  1. A bit late, but I would have cut those pieces used for the coasters to equal lenghts before glueing.
    Saves time clamping, glueing etc.

    Great job btw 🙂

  2. I really like that you are giving good example working with respiratory, ear and eye protection when needed. Maybe adding gloves when glueing with epoxy would be good idea also :).

  3. Perfect challenge idea, I suck at the shop, constantly loosing loosing tools, pencils, tapes you name it. I think its all about habit which means I need to spend more time at the shop.

  4. Interesting I am doing just the opposite. As a hobbyist I realized I was applying my work time management skills in the shop. I kept trying to maximize efficiency. Now I’m trying to maximize enjoyment. So I’ve been stopping more to appreciate the process. But again I’m usually signing the front of the check for my projects, you are signing the back. The goals are different.

  5. Those turned out nice. I tend to do pens in batches which I think cuts down the time per pen tremendously. Apart from that, I always work on a number of projects, but they get put on hold frequently or dropped mid-process after weeks of inactivity. And I believe that I could make better progress if I would focus more. I also spend way too much time trying to improve my shop, which seems to be a neverending task… Tu put those changes into reality, though, will be tough. Thanks for sharing, Shawn, and have a merry Christmas!

  6. Always wanted the atlas framing rig .. so freaking cool with all the diff attachments you can attach , and the way the hammer is held in place

  7. Shawn, I thought you got the Turncrafter lathe a while back, and now I see you turning this pen on a Jet lathe. What's up? I was thinking about getting one of those Turncrafters…

  8. Nice little projects. And good exercise in developing your time management skills. That's kind of like working on your business while you're working in your business. Quick question if you see this: how did you decide the distance between your router bit opening and the track that runs parallel to your router fence? I have my fence tracks in but it just occurred to me that I have no idea where to locate the perpendicular track. I'm sure if I thought about it enough, it would come to me but since you've done it… I'm working on my "asking for help once in a while" skill set. Ha Merry Christmas and thanks for your videos.

  9. I find it hard working on multiple projects as i have a single car garage but i was working on 3 at the same time. Some picture frames from recycled oregan pine floor boarda which turn out great. While the glue was drying on those i was also making some stands for a client . Time management is a challenge in small shop. Like you vest but here in South Africa very difficult to get hold of.
