  2. Been a while since I've seen any of your projects. I love your work. BTW if you want to use a pencil instead of a screw, you can drill a hole and press/glue a nut in to your block of wood. If memory serves, a 5/16 nut will let you thread a standard wood pencil to whatever depth you want and hold it snug.
