This past Christmas I made this Pirate’s Treasure Chest made of Oak and Forged Iron Hardware for one of my daughters.

Detailed plans are available on my website here.
Plans for the Pirates Treasure Chest

It has an arched lid, with an antique reproduction padlock.

I used golden oak stain and a satin lacquer finish.

Here is the hardware that I purchased from Amazon to build
this Pirate’s Chest.

Butterfly Hinges for the back of the Pirate’s Chest

Handles for the side of the Pirate’s Chest

Antique looking aged brass padlock for the Pirate’s Chest

Wrought iron hasp for the Pirate’s Chest.

How to Make an Apothecary Chest of Drawers

This little chest is made of sapele and soft maple. The drawers are joined using a double dado or half blind lock joint. Overall the dimensions are about 14″ wide, 18″ tall, and 6″ deep. The box was made to hold watches and each drawer can hold two watches on soft cushion. I finished the chest with a few coats of danish oil after sanding everything up to 320 grit.

Let me know what you think! Thanks for watching.
